Ran that 462 yet?
Just today I did on that Birch tree. Wasn’t a big tree by any means, but enough to get the saw to Op Temp - she pulls!

I’m anxious to use it for a solid day of logging. After that I’ll really know what it’s all about.

Yes they are handy. This one is my uncles and he mows with it as well as loads his small sawmill among other chores around his property.
Yeah I can lift about 1000 lb log with mine. Put a couple 10’ 25”diameter logs on my bandsaw and that’s definitely pushing it

That’s awesome!

He was a total riot to be with. Him and my uncle Derby were always blast to hang out with.

Uncle Don died of cancer in 2005, he was 64. Worked all them years, retired bought a new 1-ton dodge and new 40' 5th wheel camper, he made one trip to CO/WY, he hung out at my place for almost a week, he got back home he was not feeling well, went to see the doc, he was diagnosed with cancer, he died 6 month later.

Yeah it sucked, I was close with him.

Then his oldest son Shannon (who was my age) died 3 weeks later in a ATV accident. Shannon was a big boy, 6' 7" close to 300 lbs, 8 pallbearers carried his casket. Some people in the family think Shannon's death was not a accident, he was not right after losing his dad. I don't know if it was a accident or not? Some in my family say one thing, others say something else. All I know is he went on a bender after his dad died, he never sobered up. Then he died.

Sorry to hear that. Everyone handles things differently, that’s for sure.

True! I talked to him twice afterwards, he was not well.

Coroner's report listed it as a accident.

Even if he was toasted out of his mind, I'll just go with accident, even thou some of my family thinks otherwise.

They were, Derby is still alive. I have a lot of happy memories with them two when I was growing up.

Derby is the one who got me hooked on dodges. This used to be his truck. 1970 W100 Power Wagon, it was special ordered 383 with a 4 spd. It would get up and scoot. He taught me to drive it when I was 14. By the time I got my learners permit when I was 15, he would send me to town by myself to get things for him at the lumber yard in it, he built custom homes.

He bought this truck back in 1973 from the original owner when he was living in Laramie WY. He sold it in 2019, he offered it to me, but I just couldn't swing it. It was really hard to pass it up, really hard!!! It was a truck I had wanted since I was a kid. One of my cousins listed on a online auction site, it brought about triple what he offered it to me for. Which was best for him at the time anyways.

Last I knew it was in MO. It had around 68,000 original miles on it when he sold it. When he first bought it, he drove it almost daily for a few years, then later it was only used 3-4 times a year. It was a privilege he let me drive it, the few times a year it came out in the daylight, I was often the one behind the wheel.
