Mine too - I live “up on the ridge” as we say around here, and I never have to remove any snow load.

Only ridges in Fargo are the highway over passes. It's *f-wording flat as *f-word here. But that does makes winter driving easy.

You fellas should really find the time to try one. Snowmobiles accelerate so quickly with their variable belt drive, that your arms will be 4” longer after you punch the throttle.

Haha I suppose! I lived in western MN for a couple years. It’s flat and the wind never stops out there. I hated it. At least here, I can get out of the wind down in a valley somewhere. I was born for the hills...

I hear ya! It ain’t easy spending extra on anything right now. But it’s been a family tradition for us, and my wife and I each grew up riding snowmobiles with our families too. So we make it happen.

I can say we have several of those trucks in our PSR fleet and the guys like em. Pretty responsive from what I've heard with fuel mileage in a 1500. That says something. Dang did I just say that. Please forgive overseer of the Ferd almighty.

Yeah, dont forget that Ferd has been putting tiny huffed up motors in their 1/2 ton trucks for "a few" years.
Dont get me wrong, they fugged up royally when they killed the 300 I6 in 1996 and went to the Triton "spark plug launchers".
Also went away from the horrible twin I beam front suspension about 20 years later than they should have.
The "squeaky " independant front suspension apparently works ok, but damn its annoying.
I wont own a Ferd, Chebby, or Dudge made between 1997 and 2012.
Before that, and after 1980, they were all pretty solid.
After that, I can only say I hope that I die before my 95 F150 wears out.
Its got 208 k on it, and still has the factory exhaust and spare under it.
Yeah, maybe I need to do something with the spare tire situation, but ive been pretty lucky so far...

Waiting on fuel line for the shinny 695, then she will be ready to fire up.

Sold Shindaiwas for an all-too-short while.
Roberts Supply out of FL wasnt the best for dealer support.
Shindaiwa trimmers and saws were damn good back in the 90s though.
Damn shame they didnt get the support they needed. If they had, they could have bought Echo, instead of the other way round.
757 was an absolute BEAST of a saw from the factory. Couldnt stall that mfer, and ive put my fat arse into trying.
488 was an awesome firewood/lightweight bucking saw.
695 was a good pro saw for the woods.
Ive still got one in the rafters that needs a piston and fuel line.
T27 trimmer is STILL my favorite, and I HATE trimmers.
It was insanely light, and had ALL the bawls. Worked great for general trimming small grass, but could also pull a brush blade, and even a sapling blade with no fuggs sacrificed.

That's good to hear. I'm biased but I like the turbo'd small displacement engines in half tons. They aren't made for towing but they are still capable of it and they haul ass when they aren't loaded. A lot of trucks, including a lot of fleet work trucks, will never need to tow a trailer. They are a good fit for the application.

Ford has been selling more EcoBoosts than V8s for nearly a decade and this was the only direct response from any competitor until Toyota came out with the new Tundras.

My grandfather amd father have been Chevrolet fans forever.
My dad had a 1967 Dudge D100 LWB in baby chit yellow with the 225 "leaning tower of NO power" when I was a kid.
I actually loved that old truck, just for the memories of hunting trips we went on and stuff a young kid likes.
He finally got rid of that and got a 1987 Dudge that my brother took over.
Finally bought himself a brand new Chebby in 2013.
Still has my grandads 1974 Chebby pickup. Bare bones. Only "upgrade " on that one is a 350 SBC. 3 "on the tree". No power anything, except brakes.
He also has an 86 Silverado 4 x 4 that runs like chit with a clapped out 305 and more Bondo than a well-stocked Oreillies.
Ive about given up on having time to take the 350 out of "paw-paws" truck and swap it into the 86, but "maybe one day"...

Agree totally with ya Joe. I've been in this Trail Boss since September. It is definitely winning me over. I'll make a short story out of this long one. Saw two Ford Lightening all electric 150's today in cold northern weather. Both trucks had fogged up and partially icy windows. Wondering the heat source for heater/defroster cycles. Are there electric grid panels in the duct work? Doesn't look to be doing a good job. Specially with two different trucks and drivers. Sorry so lengthy Joe.

I like the 695's (I have 3).
Larry (Lnk) is building one now that he picked up.

He collected them for the motors.
Frames were tossed.
