Just curious as to why they require pumping? If the system works correctly. I am going to do some research.

Just researched a little. While they recommend inspection and cleaning, they also talk about symptoms of a system in need of pumping. I am not having any of those symptoms. I may call and have it pumped just so I know whether I need to have it done periodically. Would rather know than be surprised. Glad we had this s-wordty conversation! Lol

I’ll find out tomorrow if I wasted my $103.50 or not. For my piece of mind first winter in the new place I’d rather be safe than having the alarm go off on Christmas Eve when a bunch of people are coming over.

Did they not pump it before you moved in? Here you are required to pump it every three years and it has to be reported to the county. When selling a house with septic they are required to be inspected and most often they get replaced it seems.

I saw it but wasn't sure if you knew it was there, that's why I didn't mention it. Was that house built before 1950? And no thanks on the sack kick, I am fine without that.

I framed the house when I was 31. Was probably 32 when I nailed up the siding.

I don’t know if they had it pumped, that’s why I’m doing it. The area and size of lot we have if it needs replacing we have to go to a holding tank for all liquids and solids so as long as it’s working no one wants to look too close.

Overhangs on the dormer were in sad shape. Not enough shingle hanging over. I roofed it before I trimmed it. Used 5/4" x 8" facial boards, should have used 3/4". I thought it would be good enough for who it was for. I think the bigger problem was all the trees hanging over the house. We've taken down 8 or 10 big trees in the last couple of years. Shade was great, but tough on the house.

It only lasted 26 years.

The facial boards are 7/8" x 8" that we are running now.

My cost is over $400 for this set (yours might be different), over $500 retail.
You can buy lots of rubber, zip-ties and hose clamps for that...

I'd need to make my own. And I might. 2" barely reaches the plywood, so your nail lands in a gap between the plywood and facial board. Might be better now since I used 1.5" thick sub facial rather than 2" this time.

So....I found a 4.5" wide drip edge at Lowes. I'll get some of that.

Evening fellas. This little gem found its way home with me tonight. New or as new, fairly certain never ran. May not have had fuel in it, looks like some 2 cycle oil in the fuel tank, oil tank not used. Came with a like new plastic case and the documentation.

I think a lot of that has to do with the size of the system. My house is 2800 sq ft and it is just the wife and I. We also don't have to worry about the ground freezing. In the 10 years we have owned it, we have yet to need a pump out. My understanding, which may be wrong, is the bacteria breaks down the solids, and the liquids go out to the leech fields where they disappear. If 20 people lived here, it would need pumping. Am I understanding it correctly?

Yep.
Ours was put in 1996.
Its about 1800 square feet.
Had a family of 3 living here until we bought in 2004.
We had 3 of us full time with frequent guests until about 2008 when our son moved out.
Been two of us since, with occasional visitors.
We do a monthly treatment with rid x or a similar bacterial supplement.
Knock on wood, havent ever had to have it pumped or serviced.
