Mornin' men. Last morning of nice warm weather before the rain comes and chases it off. Sure made for an awesome weekend though. Plus, on the drive back Sunday morning, about mid-U.P. I had a cougar lope across the road about 500 yards ahead of me. I'd never seen one before in person.

This is not the over-made-up, leather-skinned "50 and ready to get nifty" at the Friday night Warner Robins local honkey tonk type of cougar.

Stay safe

Good evening everyone..

A bit of a sad day today..
Long story short.
Went out for a walk with the lady & her dog. Ended walking through the woods & stumbled on a springer spaniel 6yr old ish lying in the stream, I thought ahh fuk those game hunters they lost a dog.

i went to pull it out the stream (not to pollute it) then I noticed it was still just about alive. Definitely had hypothermia.

I couldn’t just leave it. Those f-wits probably out Sunday & today is Tuesday..
I carried the dog 1/2 mile back to the car. Got it home then it died.
So dam sad…….

Sean, you did the right thing.
Sad ending, but you did it right. it didn't die alone which counts for something.

You did what you could, the right thing. Any tags or way to track down the owner?

Naw!
Any good carpenter knows there is no such thing as perfectly square, plumb, or level.
They all know how to take that and make the finished product work with the imperfection they started with.
Thats something ive had to struggle with.
My brain wants it to be perfect, but reality dictates it cant be.
If you dont learn how to deal with it, nothing you make will ever be right.
Have to somewhat agree. The fight is real. Specially when it’s been drilled into ur head from young age. Plumb square level, if not u will fight it all the way to the end. Framing is all set up to the 4’ X 8’ not 3’ x 6’. Its a small thin line of tolerance for the Plumb Square Level. IMHO. My 2 cents on the subject. For what it’s worth.

Did any of you *f-wordnuggets notice the sunburst in the dormer gable? Been there over 25 years, and I can't recall anyone ever noticing it.

I tried sunburst a few times. Always a very challenging project inside a project. Math or algebra was never my strong suit. Tht looks good. Must have good patients.
