Maybe for the same reason I dont go to bars and get in fights anymore?
I'm still tough, but I dont recover quite as quickly.
Can still do it, but it hurts a lot more for a lot longer.

Ya mean like Toby Kieth says
I ain’t as good as I once was [emoji2955]

Because it is an imprecise endeavor, where a perfectionist is never happy. Plus it is hard work! And you are old!

What do I win?
Naw!
Any good carpenter knows there is no such thing as perfectly square, plumb, or level.
They all know how to take that and make the finished product work with the imperfection they started with.
Thats something ive had to struggle with.
My brain wants it to be perfect, but reality dictates it cant be.
If you dont learn how to deal with it, nothing you make will ever be right.

Did any of you *f-wordnuggets notice the sunburst in the dormer gable? Been there over 25 years, and I can't recall anyone ever noticing it.

Maybe I could put one up.:)
This is my 4th 10-10S and I am only allowed to have 3 of any saw. ;) So, I will give one to a friend that needs (wants) one. He knows who he is.

Thats a lucky friend.
I just took count, and I actually only have 3. The other is parts only from one that dad had a tree roll over on and smashed it.
One of the other three is in a box and waiting on a ring. Low hour saw, but had chrome peeling from the cylinder. Gets the cylinder from the smashed one and a new ring as soon as I find one.
This is my best-looking one, and it has plenty of scars.
Dad has a 1010SE with the black filter cover.

Putting this one back together for a coworker.
He had a friend give it to him.
Was the friends grandfathers saw apparently. Found in a barn they were going to bulldoze. Had a Husky bow on it. He bought the bar and chain.
New oem piston kit that he found two of and was kind enough to gift me one.
I'm repairing it in exchange for the bow, and the new piston kit.

My neighbor says the difference between a good carpenter and a bad carpenter is how well they hide the mistakes! Lol

Good Morning / Evening All. A frosty 34 this morning, we still have some nicer weather coming but yesterday was not one of them.

Almost an inch of rain fell and the ditches are again full and some fields have standing water. I know understand why the farmer across the road was out bailing all Sunday evening in to the early morning.

This rain fall has us breaking the record for the wettest year ever, with still 2 months to go…

Well said.

We are building some decks on a house years ago, and ended up comparing pictures of work with the guy who was doing the inside trim. He showed me a picture of a sunburst pattern he did on a gable.....and well. LOL

I spent almost 18 years remodeling houses that guys 100 years ago stood back and said..eh..fukk it, close enough..nail it.

My dad told me he could teach a monkey to frame/trim a new house, you gotta be good to add on to an old one.
