Big time.
That job under warranty will pay about 16 hours.
Regular book time using Chilton, Motor, Etc, will be about 40. Warranty time was 30 about a year ago, then they cut it.

Thanks, clearly identifies the source of your frustration. How long will/did it take you?

If it comes apart without things breaking, probably 25,26 hours.
I have zero intention of starting on it this week, I have too many other things completely tore apart.

Sad thing about this is the fact The lord of the wrench always pitches a fit about how he works on this guy's trucks (excavating company) and nobody else should touch them.
Well, the lord was gone, truck came in for an issue the he had been making love to for over a year..I fixed that problem, and noted when I started it after sitting the low coolant light came on. In order to cover my butt, I noted that, the fact that the surge tank was full and that it built excess pressure immediately..and now it's my baby..

I'll have to take some pics of that timing chain fiasco and the special tools they give...
I can guarantee that they came up with the process and tools but never actually tried them in a real world trial.
The tool holds the chain above the centerline of the sprocket. So, once the sprocket is removed it allows slack in the chain...and the spring/hydraulic tensioner will ratchet out, because that's what they do...

Dammit Ed. I'm not sure how you do that stuff. The days of simple things are long gone....

I'm not sure either.
Some days I just want to walk away.

It's not getting any better. If people want to be able to do stuff themselves, find something now that they are comfortable working on, and put whatever it takes to keep it going into it.
