Not correct. Series will add to resistance. Parallel will take away.
As a total in the circuit, but if the resistor that they have sized is for a load increase to ground, then it works that way in parallel. The flasher just senses the extra resistance. As if the resistor was the filament in an incandescent bulb.
In series, it would sense the resistor value, plus whatever resistance is in the LED tail lamp.
Resistance is cumulative in a series circuit. Dint splain dat right befer. Sorry.

The six volt switched systems like a heavy draw like old steering column mounted jobs with the flasher and release bar on it.
Good parts and cool stuff back in the old days.
You just add more lights to get them going or shorted the flasher till it was half cooked and it livened them right up. We didn't have time for no resistance. Always looked like a strobe light towing the boat or big campers, meh.

Dallas......I thought we was friends.

Wow......just wow.

LOL GFY

Not more than 450 - 500.

I've been doing some research. There are good parts available. I'll probably build the one I have.

I'll be running it in a 2wd....

But yes, a 4L80 would be a better starting point. The damn things are pricey though. Then you still gotta build it.

Sorta like the 10 bolt vs the 12 bolt back in the day. One will break the ring gear, the other will break the spiders. Might as well beef up the one you have.

So.... I don't know exactly what your project is. But 383 & a 4l60e...... 2wd...... Non lockup.......Painless wiring......

Would it be more cost effective to build a 700r4 and ditch the computer all together?

I may be crazy but it's a thought.

I like this guy.
Computers, ok for shooting the chit and looking at boobies.
As part of a reliable mode of transportation, not so much.

Depends on your end goal and do you have a stand alone system on the motor?
700 goes none electronic, half way and all electronic.
What one are you referring to?

I thought randy already had the 4l60 was his reasonings. I could have misunderheard. But ya I’m with you I don’t see the 700r4 any more reliable
