It’s the same carb body, but the linkages are different. Have to swap the 261 shafts into the 199
Coolness! I want to see what a 261 can do! Will that dual shoe clutch hold power or is the swap to the 3 shoe needed? I heard they are harder to come by now.

Don’t really know. I suppose if it’s spinning enough RPMs it doesn’t have a choice but to hook up

257 converted to a ported 262. New OEM intake block and gaskets. Converted an HDA199 with the 257 shafts. New correct carb kit. No matter what I did to it, I couldn’t get fuel to the low side. No passageways blocked that I can see. But I could not for the life of me find any low side fuel going to the needle. So I drilled out a hole that had a brass plug in it right down into the low feed screw. Boom. Runs perfect

All I use are 198's, won't mess with the 199's I do a Dallas and toss em in the trash.

This morning battery voltage was 12.3, started right up, no messages, indicators.
Had been sitting untouched since Friday at 5pm.
Parked outside. 2.5 hours later battery voltage is at 10.8v, dropped to 7.5v on startup and check engine, service column lock, etc..
It's outside right now with a meter hooked to it.
Something has to be turning on in the cold.

Evening all. Extreme cold warning should end tomorrow. Our streak of daytime highs colder than -20C ended at 9 after we got to -19.5 today. Longest streak of weather that cold in more than 100 years.

Did get out for our walk, I really enjoy long weekends.
