My first whip was a '78 monte carlo. 500 bucks. Wish you could still find cars like thatI agree with ya. My old lady thinks her kids need first cars bought for them when they become of age. My first vehicle was a $300 87 s-10 that looked like Swiss cheese. Kids these days are getting brand new vehicles that mommy and daddy pay for and all they do is destroy them
How old is my knife? Buck date codes Mine is a pretty worn out 1995Everyone benefits from a little manual labour. They only way to learn what is best for us is to do some things that we don’t like. Need to know what we fall back on if we slack and fail and the learning stuff. A lot of motivation can be gained on the stupid end of a shovel.
There is lots to be said for all the summer weeks we spent on the uncles farm as kids.
I’m not even sure, will try and remember to see what the box says when I get home.
Haven’t had trees that big to require it yet. But you’ll know it’s been used when the paint on the bar wears off eventuallyVideo of you using it?

Some people aren't cut out to go to college. There is nothing wrong with blue collar work. The ultimatum you gave him sucks in my opinion. What if he decides one day to go to a tech school to be a certified mechanic?I don’t want him to have to work hard like me, I’m also paying for him a really good education. He goes to private school. And he will go to college. Our agreement is if he does not go to college he is on his own
Agreed. Especially that last part. You want to go to college, fuggin work for it.Here is how I see it...if a kid wants to go to college there are a few things that must be true. 1) They need to know what degree they are going for before starting 2) They need to have a vocation to fall back on if college don't work out 3) They need to have skin in the game for paying for school (if not paying for all of it).
Excellent!I've told both of the kids the first two years of college is on me. I've worked my tail off for all of their lives and they've seen it and both have a pretty damn good work ethic. My daughter has chosen remote learning for the rest of this year so she can work as much as possible and still carries honor roll grades. She gets a pretty long leash from me. My son, whom a few of you have met, also did well in school but not so much at CC. After a second partial semester of failure we agreed it wasn't working and he did what he really wanted to do and entered the full time work force. After a couple of different ideas he's settled into a millwright apprenticeship where he can work as much as he desires. And he is. I'm almost certain my daughter will wind up with at least a bachelor's degree, but not because I'm making her. She's just driven. A hard worker. They both are.
There is no one right path for them. You show them how to work and support them the best you can. I tell my GF after middle school I just want to be the bumpers in the gutters at the bowling alley.
YMMV.
Fukk dat! No more milk n pizza. Nope.Gimmee six months to get my big ass back into shape...![]()
