I’m due too. I’m just having a hard time wrapping my head around selling mine and putting 20 K with it to buy into someone else’s problems. And I’m sure as hell not paying 80 K for a new one

Exactly. Can't afford a new one and at least I already know the problems with the one I've got. Buy a used one and I dont know what I could be getting myself into.

I really do love the truck I've got but it's just not really practical driving a 25 year old truck everyday.

....Says the guy with automatic refills on viagra.

Pre Moses?

That was just the LB7s. Subsequent generations weren't plagued with that *s-word. The new replacement sticks for the LB7s no longer have that wear issue.....unless you buy NOS. lol
If you get another Dirtygirl, don't get an 11-16, they used the CP4 pump which was known for shattering and taking out the rest of the fuel system downstream.....including injectors. Unless it's been converted to CP3.

Just my .005 worth.

My personal opinion is the CP4 pump failure is an internet cowboy driven phenomenon.
Do they fail? Sure.
Do they fail at the rate the keyboard warriors claim? I dont believe they do.
I've seen one.
The dealers in the surrounding counties wont touch a diesel, so they get sent to me, so I work on a few.
I personally own a 13.

Now, 2015 and 2016 we saw a run of head gaskets. Bolts were not very tight on removal. Some gaskets were cracked, some, nothing visual could be found.
