As some or most of you know by now, Dallas has not been able to work for quite some time. He had heart surgery and then has a debilitating back injury with advanced arthritis that they have not been able to fix. He has been denied benfits and disability. If one delves deep into internet 2 stroke garden tool lore one will hear of the Stihl 044.
According to ancient scrolls it houses mythical tree killing capabilites and human healing powers.

I've never even pulled a start rope on one much less made a cut, but figured it's finally time.

Bear in mind I'm not a trained professional in any aspect and I fully expect Dallas to tell me I'm a slacker multiple times before this is over.
Available time, money and parts availability will dictate the speed of this build.

I have no set direction other than get it going without breaking the bank.

Howdy fellas. Not going to lie, it’s about time we help Dall out. I’ll see what I can come up with.

It took me 8 different stores between 2 different cities, 30 miles apart, before I was able to find the step down adapter @timg mentioned I should get… BUT, I got one! Now back to assembling brake parts..
