Good morning gents and Happy Saturday. 85 and sunny here. Oldest boy has his last day of wrestling camp today. I’m going to continue working on the skidder. The days ate slipping by, pretty soon it will be time to get in the woods and log again.

After a tick borne illness changed my life, I studied every available resource I could find on these things. Heres a new one from the BBC. 1 in 10 people have, or have had a tick borne illness. I'd recommend learning all one can.....

What is the testing process like, to see if one had/has lyme's or anything else? I've probably had a dozen of them in the last 5 years, and have kinda wondered...

Never had a rash that I've noticed around the bite; but I understand the rash isn't always an indicator?

Blood tests. Still has a 25% chance of not detecting it even if you have it.

Morning/Evening All. Hell of a thunderboomer overnight. Not sure how much fell but it was load and ferocious for a couple of hours disturbing our sleep.

Starting to clear up, which I appreciate as we have outside stuff to do today.

I'm doing something silly today. I'm going to look at a house for sale, that belonged to my grandparents when I was a kid. Spent alot of my childhood there, and a great many hours in the woods making firewood with my Grandpa.

More property than I have now, bigger house, pole barn etc... and the scary part is I actually can afford it if we pull the trigger.

Only 2 miles up the road from where I'm currently at, kids wouldn't need to change schools

You may have a stretched chain of which doesn't take much. Just an extra 1/8" of length will cause that. How far is your tensioner plunger out of the tensioner body? That's a real quick way to check chain stretch.

You could also have a spun reluctor ring on the crankshaft. But highly unlikely.

Usually if the phaser is at fault it will run terrible or not at all.
Thank you Steve. The exhaust cam oil control valve was stuck.

So here is my work saw, like all of them, serves an intended purpose. That Egan straight shot was polished by the original owner, so after 6 months you can't tell. Folks, this is not a harley Davidson motorcycle where everything is always looking spiffy. Been getting lots of flack locally from these so called "cutters" that have all this fancy BS on their saws, and guys are like, " been cutten trees with this here saw for 5 years" lol more like 5 tanks of gas.
Just like a woman that needs to put on makeup before starting a saw and cutting don't ask how I know but it drives me nuts and God forbid she sees this post. IDGAF 😆 whatever rant over. You know I love ya'll20240803_090919.jpg

A few hours drive from me
Waiting to see what happens when the water comes over the slide,,
I have been through that area a few times and stayed at the Stampede Grounds at Williams Lake twice

Gorgeous country

I hope this resolves itself with an absolute minimum loss to the people and land

BC has been getting their ass kicked a lot over the last few years, weather wise

I have more respect for a tool "in its work clothes" than a highly polished shelf or trailer queen. Rant away
