@Woodpecker I was thinking of you at lunch. Was sitting at the picnic table outside the shop and a tree crew was working next door removing a couple trees that were in danger of growing in to some power lines (so not big trees at all).

Brand new F550 Forestry truck with knuckle boom, a smaller Vermeer chipper and 5 groundi’s. Didn’t see what other vehicle (s) they had as the 550 was a regular cab. Did all the removal with a battery top handle, I think the Husky from the looks of it. Only fired up a gas saw to topple the final spur. You would have cried at how slow this process worked. Either a customer is paying too much or the owner of this outfit isn’t making any $$.

Two trees to remove, I really had to laugh as the groundi’s cleaned up, raked and blew the parking lot clean after the first tree... Only to repeat again after the next one.
With the brand new forestry truck and 5 ground guys you know the customer paid too much

Good evening guys. Works done. Back home wrapping up the 500e series mower. Oil mixed in with gas was the issue. New gaskets and fresh everything and she'll be good.

I can picture that scene in my imagination:Y2LdGnM.jpg

Brand new equip always screams you're over paying. Wright tree service (a large tree service that does tons of line clearance work nation wide) usually rolls around in shiny equip with tons of peons pusing brooms and humping rakes charging 3k a day for basic tree work. I feel bad for charging 1/3rd that much...

Completely agree.
Then again, I has a (almost) new shiny big azz truck.
We usually charge WAY not enough for jobs that we do(but thats the service dept(me) keeping contracts promises for them). About to embark on another such endeavor in the morning.

Almost all the oil was mixed with the gas. Drained the oil and it came out silver with debris. Fresh oil, fresh gas, clean carb and new sp and voila. She's good to go.
