I was in 6th grade when that happened, we were watching it live on TV, than it blew up. Everyone in class was silent for like 5 minutes.

Our teacher knew the teacher that was on board the shuttle, they had either went to school or college together, I don't remember which now.

Won't never forget that day. 6 days into Parris Island boot camp on Jan 28, '86 them mf'ng DI's told us to sit in formation on the front squad deck and they rolled a tv in on a metal cart in the squad bay of the barracks and played the Challenger news live. Hell, I thought it was gonna be like early elementary school years when they used to roll a tv into the classroom and they'd crank up The Electric Co or some *s-wordt and they was gonna have us watch that.
