The 57 5/16" is the radius, there are 6.28 radians in a circle, so 360/6.28 =57.32 degrees, therefore, there are 360, 1 inch pieces, each being 1 degree. The 1" equals 1 degree only works at the radius of 57.32" which is close enough to 57.3125 or 57-5/16".
That's a dang good explanation right there.

Fine. I'll make sure I strike the arc at exactly 57.32" Larry.:)
Seriously, this is good info.
I may have some upcoming projects that I can use this on.
Thanks to everyone for sharing.

No problem, just happened to be something I knew. Instead of one of the many things I don't. Comes from using mil-dot reticles as a range finder.

Don't sweat the difference, it is that imprecise carpentry stuff. Lol

I'm going to pick up ole' redfins at his hotel in 20 minutes, wish me well..maybe I'll score tonight. We're going to a fine Deli.

I'm gonna show him the south side

That'll be an experience for his hillbilly ass.

He was half kicked in the ass when I picked him up.

I think I'm gonna get past 3rd base.

How’s every buddy doin’? well, I hope.

Been slammed. Work and storm damaged trees. Fun but no time and I’m tired. Then found out my dad is losing his health and marbles back home 1500mi away, doesn’t have his life in order, never has. Hoarder, thinks I’m just trying to get his stuff. Prolly gonna have to do the whole conservatorship thing, crash course. Any advice appreciated. Gotta get it done and get back to work.

Sorry to hear David, best advice is to get a lawyer. Unless someone here is one, you should seek professional, legal help.

Good morning men, no rain on the menu today either. That 1/4" we got the other night will have to do.

Going to replace the fuel pump in the k1500. Seems I always am working on something! Lol

Morning/ Evening All. Day 2 of meetings coming up, I sometimes really dislike some of my peers. The difference is levels of give a *s-word and preparedness is frustrating.

How’s every buddy doin’? well, I hope.

Sorry to hear this, I can’t advise on the steps to take but I am here to empathize and talk if you need too. Watching our heroes no longer be able to care for themselves is tough. I lost both my parents long before they actually left this world. We managed to get mom in to a care home for almost 3 years before she passed, the entires time we had to keep up the house as she wouldn’t let us sell it or even clean it out, eventually cost the estate 1000’s. Unfortunately while she was alive my sister had power of attorney and suffers from many of the same tendencies and even once she was gone had a hard time letting go of the house and the items in it even though she hadn’t lived there in 40 years. For me it was being forced to say “goodbye” again over an over until I finally got fed up and sold the house and contents while she was out of the country.

Get a lawyer and consult a social worker or gerontologist if you can find one. That outside resource is a trained professional that has experience with these issues and may have better success getting through to your dad. You likely love him too much to force things that need to happen and that outside resource helps.

Thought I would drop my math inferior ass in here and say morning. Hope all is well with yinz. I see some new guys picking up the slack. Keep smiling.

Now that you have retired that work rig are you going to retire that avatar for your new light duty luxury truck?

Morning Tim you see the Williams Grove replay from Saturday night? All Pa. Posse on the podium. Gravel was top outlaw. Sweet broke. Only 16 points between them with 3 races left.
