Here it is on a 16' trailer. It's not really all that small. Compared to a tractor, I'm limited by the short wheel base. It will lift more, but depending on how high I lift it, it may tip forward..

All the advantage for skid steers and CTLs is in operating space and turning radius. They are both basically zero turn radius machines. Sure, you can pick up more with a FEL or a payloader, but you have to have extra space to maneuver those. These things were made for small spaces. "Bobcats" made their name around here in poultry houses. Low headroom, so anything coming in to clean out old litter had to be able to operate in there, and still dump into a standard height truck or spreader truck body.

Its easier to put a Chevy in a ford than a ford in a ford.
Just simple Maffs. Kinda less Maffs really. Why defeat the purpose of a SMC by having to put all new mounts in a Ferd that really dont want or need em anyhow? Kinda like transplanting a Gerbil heart into a Guinnea Pig. Sure, it'll work, but wont have enough hearse purrs to do nuffin wif it. Now you jus gots a fat guinnea pig that eats all the time and dont do nuffin.

The engine swappers are all Ferd guys. They’re already on their knees...
My cousin swapped a 460 into where a 351 M boat anchor was. That was something. 77 ferd 150s had 2 different frame widths that year. Needed outside the frame rail headers in that which required more lift or they rubbed. Just a cluster fork.
