We have a spring fed pond that usually runs over the spillway year round. It's not been flowing for a couple of weeks now.

Our cattle industry has been decimated by this drought. Farmers are already selling off large portions of their herds hoping to preserve feed for the ones they keep to make it through winter. July sales at the Winnipeg stock yard was an all time record for head, not any kind of weight to be excited about.

I’ve heard some ranchers are needing to haul water to fill ponds/ dugouts. One story I heard was 16 000 gallons every 10 days or so. Dairy farmers are having a hard time finding feed to buy and prices have tripled.

Local vegetable co-op is donating potatoes culls and left overs from last year to any farmer with a truck that shows up. Something like 20 or 30 semi loads.

Something about dog puke is especially foul. I have nearly done the same recently. My German Shepard has had some sort of stomach bug the last couple days...
