Hope everyone is safe Dan scary chit that buddy it’s all over the news here

Thanks Todd! A lot of damage done lately. Thankfully, our notification and evacuation plans have improved so loss of human life was minimized.

We're on high alert for fire. No use of OPE or powered tools outdoors. All roads with forest access are closed. It hit a 117F last week and now the wind has kicked up.

Morning all. First day of vacay, walk then a message then need to clean the truck and get it ready for the trip. Oldest is going to house / pet sit for us while we are gone so need to bring out the cheap liquor and stash the good stuff.

For those that have been counting along today is one full year, 365 days that Thea and I have done our daily walks. I really didn’t expect this day to come, was sure travel would resume and I would have to cut is short but we made it.

(warning cute puppy photo below)

Sadness. I'm beginning to wonder if we will ever see a return to normal.

Yep. Was ready to get on the courts today after being away from tennis for quite a while, other than occasional hitting with some buddies. Had my skirt, everything all ironed and ready to roll for some pics for Dallas…he’ll be bummed.

I don’t know if Moderna is going to offer a booster shot to go along with their two-shot deal I took several months ago but if they do, sign me up…beats the hell outta the possible alternative I suppose. I think all mfg’rs of these shots are looking into the booster shot thing I guess by now.

Randy, I think we will see a new normal it just saddens me that politics is slowing that down. Vaccines are working but not enough are in arms. More people have decided for themselves that they know best, I can understand that to a degree because as @Tor R said the experts keep changing their minds on what is best.

The thing we all need to keep in mind is that this is a completely new virus and it is being studied more than any other ever in history, of course information is going to change. It’s mot like the flu and the recommendations are well known and always the same.

Also, we need to find our humanity and care for each other. There used to be a time when we could disagree and still value the other, this has disappeared in the last 18 months, finding our new normal had to include reconciling how we care about people and not just ourselves.

Jason, Moderna just released a study this week that there vaccines are still 93% effective 6 months after the second dose. Let’s not be selfish and start looking for boosters while 70% of the rest of the world has mot had a chance to get a single shot of anything. They only way to get past this is to get the entire planet vaccinated and in a better place otherwise new variants will always be popping up and each will be worse than the last.

its almost as old as you but it works, has the variable belt drive on it. Never looked at how rough the clutch was when I got it but should have, someone actually turned a plate of mild steel to replace half the old clutch and it had no bushings in it. Poorly executed fix so I found a good used one for 500$ To put in. The new parts were over 1500$ ago found them, has a 134 cu in case gas engine. Rated for 1700 lb lift and has 18 gpm at 3000 psi auxiliary hydraulics

The “chicken hotel” all the guys at work give me grief about, spent some time and money to make a nice coop that will hopefully last. Concrete floors with a corse of block and insulated 2x4 walls with a vapor barrier and bathroom exhaust fan in the roof.
