So both my tractors just have little inline piddly fuel filters from the factory. Should I think about putting a fuel filter/ water separator setup on them? Or is it unnecessary for my sized machines?

It’s the style of injection system that matters. If it’s just an old mechanical injection pump and one shot injectors 10 microns is enough. Better won’t hurt

Doesn’t matter for that. It’s to completely stop water and contamination. Microglass won’t pass water. They plug if they get water in them and save your components

I fliter out of my bulk tank into the tractor. Tractor has only the factory filter as did the other past 3. No issues in the 16 years I've ran a diesel tractor.
