I'm a member of a Jeep forum because I have 2 Jeeps, a couple of old tractor forums because there are alot of old guys around here with 40s and 50s equipment. I became a gold member here, because the knowledge from you guys makes me look like a friggin genius to my friends. Without the knowledge here, I'd be dumb as a box of rocks. A big thanks to all, especially the monkey that started it all.

I'm a member of 5 forums, my first was bladeforums, I used to collect a ton of axes and frequent the A, T, & H sub forum a lot, not so much now. I also joined BCUSA to see the pics in full size, and I occasionally post over there. I joined Fordification because I owned a highboy I was doing a frame off resto on, but 3 months in the hospital and a year of not being able to do jack squat inspired me to sell it to my brother. I joined AS to find out why my MS250 didn't run right, and I joined here so @Mastermind could ban me for being a smartass. If I ever join FarceBook or Instaspam it'll be to keep in touch with buddies from my hospital stay, but I don't plan on joining either anytime soon.

I can’t get registered on two chainsaw forums. Never had a problem with the dozen of various forums out there.

Marketplace is kicking CL's butt for amount of stuff for sale. Scammers sure, but lots more chainsaws for example.
Marketplace definitely has some scammers, however along with the scammers have been some great deals for me personally.
I belong to a few fishing forums, a few other chainsaw related sites, and a couple smoking (food) sites. I too stopped watching TV about 3 years ago, here FHC and YouTube is what occupies my free time.

Oh dear, there is an oil thread over there too, can't wait to see
what trajectory it takes.
Won't be joining, there is more info here than I can take,
and no chance of me running out of dumb questions for you all either.

Yep, very little TV for me either, its all false news, journaliars and fakeumentries here.
Far better off getting your info on the forums.

the first few years me and my wife quit watching TV we left it on a stand in the front room so people wouldnt think were weird, and after a while I threw it away and it really opened up the front room not having it and a stand

Wait until you've been free of TV for twenty years - you'll think the rest of the world has gone mad.
When my new bride moved in with me 20 years ago, she couldn't believe I didn't have tv! It took her quite a while to get over missing her "shows" but over a few months she adjusted. Now, she completely understands why I sht-canned the tell-a-vision. We both cringe whenever we see what passes as entertainment these days.

I started off on the old knifeforum.com, then went to Bladeforums, Bushcraftusa ect...
Then a F1 tornado tore thru my place & knocked a huge Oak tree down.
I had 1 chainsaw at the time (Poulan 3300).
Started doing research on how to sharpen chains & realized I ENJOYED cutting wood which lead to AS & finally here.
I now have 10 saws (2 from you). Lol

Put a nice brick fireplace where it once sat watch flames burn wood. Much healthier to watch that than most TV programs lol.

I’m a member of a few firearm related forums. I bounce in and out, have for years.
On the subject of tv, I find it interesting that others don’t watch it. I quit awhile back, but the wife is still very much into a lot of CSI stuff. She’s glued to it. Good news is she doesn’t expect me to watch it. She’d rather I did , but I usually go to sleep when I try.
Oh well…

Amazing how many people only do and think what that damn screen says to do

Actually it's not amazing at all. As much we try to be resolute in our thought processes - we really aren't. We can be influenced by almost anything and the modern advertising industry
takes full advantage of that. There's a reason the "big brands" have psychologists on their payrolls...

What is the deal with women and true crime/csi? Everyone I talk to says the same thing. They love the murder stuff. I guess we should be glad they aren't into chainsaws! Lol
