Is fuel mileage hand calculated? Has the tire size been changed from OEM?

I should have specified my question. lol
It was for Clint. lol
I get pretty much the same fuel mileage as you Mike. I get 24 on highway trip, if I keep it at a reasonable speed about 63 mph or so. I get about 19 st 70-75mph.
About 17.5 around town.

Thats why I like my 5.9 cummins
24.5 at 55-60

Sent from Hoskey Hills

I like the Cummins best but the Ford is a better all around truck to me. The last 93 Cummins I had would do 22-24 on the interstate as long as you stayed under 75. The 07 was a 17-18 at best but it was set up pretty hot. 600~ to the wheels.

My ‘06 got about 15 in town and 20 on the highway... but with the G56 the overdrive ratio just wasn’t high enough to keep the rpms down on the freeway. It did best under 65 mph.

This Ford I’m just going off what the dash is telling me, and it’s pretty bad. Yes, it does have a 2.5” leveling kit (1” taller blocks in back), and AM wheels and tires... I believe they are 325/50 22 (probably equivalent to a 35 x 12.50). I have just been doing short trips in town, and letting it idle more than I should... and I probably should slow down a little.

I’m not sure how much bigger the tires are compared to the stock ones... my Cummins actually got better mileage with the 35’s just because the rpms went down compared to the stock tires.

There is some calculations that you could do to get the exact figures. My guess is that you are not getting as bad fuel mileage as the dash is giving you.
The taller tires have something to do with it.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s not getting 13-14. When they get leveled or lifted wind drag is way worse. Mine doing a lot of idling in the winter was down under 15. Stock tires on mine are 275/70-18

If I recall, doesnt your truck have oversize tires? That can throw off the speedo, which will alter the fuel mileage calculation.
Only time I see mileage like that is towing. (Duramax though).

They’re about 5% larger than stock, although I checked my speedo and it is pretty darned accurate... next up, I need to do some hand calculations.

Picked this up a few weeks ago for the wife.
2015 GMC Canyon, fully loaded.
Needed tires, brakes, all the fluids changed, and the dealer we use found an oil leak.
Lucky the drivetrain is still under warrantee!
Out the door and then all the repairs, almost $30,000!!
Can you say Sticker Shock?

The wife loves it... Calls it Rosie after Rosie the Riveter from WWII

Not even 500 miles and I got a check engine light, along with a “reduced engine power” message on the dash, followed by actual reduced engine power...

holy moly
I took a peek at a nice looking F150 today at the local dealer, it said platinum on the back and it must have been coated in the stuff.
$62, 500 for an F150 my 2002 7.3 crewcab powerstroke was less than $52K sticker when it was new
couldn't find a "reasonable" truck on the lot.
I am kicking around the idea of getting something less expensive and cumbersome to drive, I love my 7.3 but it is showing it's years and needs some TLC.
Maybe I will look at other brands, it doesn't look like ford even makes smaller trucks anymore

Yeah I drove a 2016 F-150 for a few days. What a pile of crap. I wouldn’t give 6,500 for a new f-150.

holy moly! my 2002 7.3/ZF-6 F-250 XLT crewcab was only $34,200 brand new off the lot. Yours must’ve been covered in platinum or something?!!
