Preview for anyone who might be interested.

I muffler modded mine and richened the carb. This little baby rips with a 12" bar and Oregon 91VXL chain (I replaced the stock 91PXL).

Me too its a nice looking little saw.i will say i have the echo pas weedeater pruner and edger and a handheld blower and love them .and hedgetrimmers

That's odd that your rep claims one is in the pipeline and mine made no mention of such. I wonder if it has something to do with the distribution network? My distributor is Florida Outdoor Equipment, who is yours?

Both, it is a magnesium split case with a removable cylinder that bolts into a composite chassis.

They are available now. My dealer got it from the distributor in one day after he ordered it. That was about two weeks ago.

I was fairly certain that I had a hankering for one of these based on your initial post, but that video and the handle doubling as a cap tool,has me prepared to fire up the old PayPal money printer!
I wasn't at all intimidated by the msrp, appears to be a quality product, and you get what you pay for and all that stuff! Plus I can always Presbyterian em down a little...

I picked one up at a dealer, it felt like all the weight was in the front. A 1/4” bar and chain would even it out, but it’s plenty light as is. I liked the side handle but I think it would lead to not properly positioning your hand to catch the brake handle during kickback.
