It's a toss up for me. I like both the 0 series and the ms series. I tend to agree with a lot of the other guys that the flippy caps suck. Sooooo, for that reason only my vote goes to the 0 series.

You can always justify another saw.

I don't know what any of this means, wtf is a flippy cap :)
It's the pain in the ass thing that I cussed and fought with for about 10 minutes today at work. It was a recalled one on a 4mix trimmer that we've just never changed. I've honestly never had a problem with one on a saw. Even after that I had to vote flippy. Even though the 0 series makes me tingly inside, the spring + carb saws just have less vibes and they didn't have a category.

044-066' surely were on the crest of a knave. Real sweet spot there. Most sought after saws then, and now......
Hope you don't mind but this was a classic ,and on topic with this thread

Why do you suppose the engineers
reinvent the wheel?
You can take and twist the Flippy Cap
on but they will not seal.

Bar oil won’t wipe off those Flippy Caps
gets stuck in the crack.
I would trade you all my Flippy Caps
just want my old ones back.

Flippy Cap you’ll always be
A pain in the Butt to meee.
Good, old Flippy Cap
One moving part now three.

Once there was time when you gassed up your chainsaw
Gas her up ‘til she’s filled.
Took chainsaw tool and screwed the cap on
Picked her up she did not spill.

Then Engineers they found 'em a new way
without no chainsaw tool.
Put ‘er on by hand and she was sposta stay
Dribble but she would not drool.

Flippy cap you’ll always be
A leakin’ mystery.
Stuck with Flippy Cap
Flippy Cap stuck on me.

Keith, I had to google "knave" and Im still unclear how your using this word in reference? Regardless, as Im assuming, 044-066 are a sweet spot of the lineup.

Older "0" series, 038, 041, 056, 090 just dang cool and get the job done.

Ported 661 just makes me giggle. :)

I like the new AV, we haven't had any issues with the Mtronics I like the was they start and run. The guys just turn and burn in the heat and humidity we have been having they and the saws are earning their keep.

As far a flip caps never had a issue with a saw just one blower !! I gave the dam thing to one of the guys !! he got soaked and earned it.

usally the pros need a saw friendly that not need to sale a kidney for repair it , if something hapend ( no matter if is flippy or no flipy )

the firewood colectors , homeowners most of them buying the soup that the dealers serve to them or what the neighbor recomend

and the forums enthusiasts usually they try theirs saw be the best of the all others

I was finally starting to like my new 461 until @Mastermind sold me a solid beauty 064 now the 461 doesn't see much use. I kind of prefer the feel of the 0 series myself but I put a lot of hours on a 038 growing up so those series kind of have a home feeling to me. I haven't ran an mtronic to say if I do or don't like them.

I prefer the flippy caps when they're working right. Get one that's a not quite right and it'll have you making up new cuss words.

FWIW: My Jonsered 2253's oil cap is a pita.
