New Pro Chain from Stihl

Same here. I use the RS on a Tsumura .050 bar. No issues.

That's good to know. My dealer is saying the chain can be ordered, but the light bar is still not available.

It's been over a year. I still don't understand why Stihl d!cks around for so long before bringing stuff to the US.

Popular on several Husqvarna saws. STIHL might be focused more on competing with them in Europe, than their own sales of ‘standard’ chain here.

By their own admission they say the compound angles are produced before assembly. When mine are toasted, which they eventually will be, they’ll get squared up on the Simington. I doubt I can make them any better but they’ll be sharp again.

I think it is for sale here. It is dealer specific though. Good dealers that are more current have them, my local ma and pa dealer near me has no idea it even exists. They thought I was crazy about square filed chain too, until I fave them the number and brought in a loop to show them. It was like a revelation. Lol

Since this thread was bumped... I will just say this stuff cuts so well off the roll that I feel like squaring it is of little value. It is durable like nothing I have ever seen right out of the box. I have only ground it and have no idea how it "files". You will not duplicate the factory compound angles without a ton of effort.

Ebay is where I bought 2 loops of this chain a few weeks ago to try. It’s great! Same here with dealers, internal education must be non-existent or delayed. The Husqvarna dealers here seem to be more aware of the latest and greatest products and told me the US is their largest market, and typically new products are delayed here until they can ramp up production to meet demand. FWIW.
