Outerwears sells filter covers much less expensive than K&N, and seems to be same material. More colors too.

I have run K&N cone filters on 660 and 2100, they work well, ditto on the oil and grease and cleaning kit.

If you use your saw a ton, the stock filter eventually will get worn out, money spent on an air filter will pay off in the long run. I was amazed how well the K&N filter cleaner worked.

I also use foam filters, main point is keep them clean for or best performance.

Takes a while for K &N to dry out after cleaning, so if you need to cut right away, your stock can be a back up. Last I checked, Madsons sells the K &N pretty cheap!!! ??

I just ran my 395 threw some small pine (20"). Had to fatten it up as I had it tuned to 13, 500 with the other filter, and it was hitting 13, 900 with the new one. I can't really tell any difference between the two in this wood as the saw is like a laser anyways lol.
