I just bought a CS 4010 from my friend who is the original owner. When I tried to remove the H & L carb adjustment limiter caps I saw that they have only a slot with no center hole like my older Echo saws. Is there a different technique for getting a screw started in preparation for pulling the limiters? BTW, it is the limiter caps I'm looking at - they only turn about 90 degrees. Thanks, Ed

Do you have any pictures of these limiter caps?

They are plain with only a straight slot across the top. I'll try to get a good photo tomorrow and post it. Thanks, Ed

I believe that ring you see around both screws is spring loaded and takes a special tool. I will look when I get out in my shop and see if I can find the info or tool. The tool I thought would work is for the 4510 which is different from the 4010. I spent over an hour looking for info on the tool for that carb and found nothing. The only carb. Echo shows is the A021005410 which has a different adjusting screw. I am going to have to follow this thread and see what you come up with.

I tried pushing down on the outer rings and they did not move at all. Any suggestions?
Thanks, Ed

Try turning the slotted jets to the center of their range and push in on the ring with a small pick. If you can get the ring to push in, you can turn the slotted screws with a tuning screwdriver. They look like the standard large spline driver but I’m not familiar with the small Echos.

This is the 4010 service data. It shows the same tool for the 4010 as for the 4510. This is not the spring-loaded Walbro style. You need adjustment tool 91157.

Thanks to all who offered suggestions and help.
What model of carburetor do you have on that 4010? The only carb. Echo shows on their parts look up it is made by them and is a GC-03-1. But the jets and caps look different from yours. Please let me know, this is bugging me, lol.

The carbs are made by Fujian Hualong (Chinese of course). They are a Zama knockoff, I believe. They share limiter caps with the 4920.
