as far as I know it is unavailable, if someone has a new one that would sell that would be great.
otherwise something I can make work. needs to be windowed, 12mm pin, top of pin to crown 16.5 to 18 will work, top of crown to bottom of skirt 38.25 or more. skirt width 33.5 or more.

anyone have a 268 piston?

The 266xp or 268 special might work. It's right at 18mm top of pin to crown, crown to bottom is 40.5. The ring pin is centered. The 50mm 266 piston I'm measuring has a full skirt along with the big windows so I don't have skirt width.

the first piston is the "C" piston and is closer to 49.98mm while the second piston is size "B" piston and is a true 49.97mm - does a 1/100th of a mm make a difference? meh I'm not sure, they used to just send me whatever they wanted until I started specifying the medium replacement.
They all use the same ring, so I guess it is to prevent a miniscule amount of piston slap.

for most recent pistons they offer an A, AB and B (smallest to largest)
some they just make a 000 version as a single size replacement, these days pistons don't wear out with a cylinder, they just get straight gassed or lean seized so the extra sizes aren't needed.

When I go digging through a box of jugs, looking for a good candidate to port, I always try to choose one that's marked A, especially if it shows a lot of wear on the lining.

hopefully Scott doesnt kill me for borrowing his thread a tad ;)
Dave, do Meteor make the first version in Husky 242?

Not exactly they make a closed port piston without Windows for the 242 but I am pretty sure I found another meteor for a customer that he used successfully for an open 242
I will look through my notes and see if I can find it this week

I know a former dealer that said he found a NOS 038 p&c in his shop. I haven't laid eyes on it yet, but he's not an internet savvy type of guy and I offered to try and move some things along for him. Downside is I'm out of town at the moment and it would have to wait till I got back later this week, potentially after Christmas depending on how things go.

Meteor Alpina 450 piston is an open window piston that's 42mm with the same pin as the Husky 242xp and a slightly longer skirt (35.5mm tall vs 34.2mm)
I plan to order some more, a customer bought all i had for use in 242xps.
No idea what mods he did to anything.
