A very wise move…the one i did was for a landscaper so was used commercially. The power is exelent on a grass/scrub blade and will run the sweep you have without the need to run it flat out with its Torque. Its nice on a long reach hedge trimmer ..But.. be- where ! the gearbox takes a pounding with the Toque so needs good Lytham grease in it and changing now and again is a smart move giving the opportunity to spot the start of any failure early.
Thanks for the heads up. I'll keep an eye on the gear box.

Muff modded (de-catted) my 326. It's been remarkably tough/reliable. It changes tune noticeably with temperature, but I pulled the limiters, and it tunes easily. The husky heads have offered me no trouble, but using the 095 ugly line has made a big improvement over the husky line.

Echo srm 200ce Jake showed me his 210ae and I wanted his but he traded it before I could get it. I found this one under the junk trailer at the local dealer, it was going for scrap. Bought a parts powerhead off the bay stole the ignition module off of it and she now runs great. New carb kit and a speed feed head. I also put an updated top handle off an echo 225 on it. It's so light and almost no vibes.IMAG2352.jpg IMAG2351.jpg IMAG2353.jpg IMAG2354.jpg

Got a Husky 525LS this week. When I brought it home I did a cat bypass muff mod/ spark screen removal, took off the guard, and installed a Speed Feed 375 on it. This trimmer sounds like a serious piece of equipment and flat out rips. I prefer this over the Stihl FS94R.

The FS88 is almost 21 years old and running strong. The others are fairly new.

I 'm glad you can run with out a guard because i get covered head to toe in grass and rocks if i don't use one.

I would never run mine without a guard, them rocks to the shins hurt.Still get hit every now and then by something.

I can't stand the guard, you can't cut around anything. I just wear glasses and man up. Lol

get poison ivy and oak on your face and see how manly you are,
Yup, manning up has nothing to do with it. Kinda like playing with rattlesnakes, sooner or later it's gonna bite you. just a matter of where and how bad.

This is a red max I bought in 2011. Actually bought two. Once you get the carb dialed in right, I am hooked. Bought the husqvarna version and sold it after one year, just to get one more new red max.

Try a piece of rebar coming at you when grinding a stump if you think little rocks do damage.
