First, I want to say thank you to this forum for keeping me motivated to buy as many chainsaws as I can find.

So, I started my CAD filled week on Wed. when I picked up a $50 MS200t that needed a sparkplug repair sleeve and will eventually get a new flywheel. I fixed that thursday and friday evenings, put a new chain on it and played with it a bit yesterday. Then this morning I went and picked up a Generator that I had looked at on Wed and while I was there I looked back through the pile of broken chainsaws and picked out 4 dead MS192tc and a HT131 and HT101. They all had compression, bars and chains. I also found a spare 200t recoil and a clutch cover for a 290. After striking a deal with the guy I asked if he had any running saws he would sell and he said he had been looking at a MS661 to replace his MS660 (now we're talkin). So I followed him out to his work truck and In the back was a pile of saws and a decent lookin MS660 with a 36" bar mounted on it. He gave me a price I couldn't pass on, so I paid the man, loaded my treasure up, hooked up my generator trailer and headed for home. So for the grand total of $570 I ended up with 8 new to me saws in the last 4 days. Time to take a break from my CAD.

The best part is once I got home I spent a few hours working on my new toys and checked the 660 over and it looks real good with a perfect piston and Cylinder, and I also got 3 of the 4 MS192's running.

My dealer won’t sell used saws... he keeps the good ones for parts and throws the rest away. :(

That’s so cool, you scored well, and that will keep those idle fingers busy.

I might have to start. Now if the wife says anything I just say "this is how many I have always had". Then I get a chuckle and a disgusted look and that buys me a few months.

Hi,
Could you help me? I have a second hand Stihl MS192 TC chainsaw and I don't know if the cylinder mounted on is the original or A MS192 T version. Do you perhaps have or could make a photo of the cylinder from the flywheel side? I need the inscription written below the fins.

Thanks

Hi if I understand you correctly, it should be the same cylinder for the rear handle and the top handle..
I would look on a site that sells both and check part numbers.
Edit look at pics I’ve added there seems to be two types but both fit the rear and top handle

maybe ask @ray benson for a manual/ipl

Thanks Wonkydonkey. The Stihl part number for the cylinder is 1137 020 1204 and I'm not looking for it. The thing is that I have a MS192 TC version chainsaw and I was asking Weeks auto if he still has the MS192 TC chainsaws to make me a photo of the cylinder from the flywheel side to help me identify which cylinder is mounted on my chainsaw without dismantling the cylinder itself?

@mitos . I had a look around when I came back from sailing today. I personally don’t think you will be able to tell which cylinder you have by just looking at two pictures.
But i hope you do.

however there was another thread, I will dig it out for you. it was said that the exhaust groove type has a lower compression while pulling it over unless the non groove type is well worn then it will give the same low compression.
Anyhow here’s the link.

Most saws from a tree service are so beat up that nobody wants to work on them to save them. BTW, CAD is not an attractive expression in my book:

CAD - a man who acts with deliberate disregard for another's feelings or rights.

You have a nice collection of chainsaws, but please be careful when you use this expression. Just MHO.

C.A.D., pronounced “see - ayyy - dee” : Chainsaw Acquisition Disorder. Sometimes abbreviated as CAD or cad.

Cad, pronounced “Kad”- a man who acts with deliberate disregard for another’s feelings or rights. Often written as cad.

@Wood Doctor fyi and just saying..
“Cad” to me is chainsaw Addiction Disease… and is a term used in the chainsaw enthusiasts places like here ;)

but as with most acronyms they can be used in different ways, and everyone’s fav here is
GFY..
Good For You or Go Fùck Yourself.. which is used in a very friendly term in the nsp3 thread.

I fear I have been suffering from Chainsaw Acquisition Disorder for 40 years or more. My 1977 Mac 610 that I bought new can verify that. It still runs today and can occasionally pull a 28" bar and chain.

I recall my high school journalism instructor telling the class that abbreviations are a major bane of the English language. Nowadays we tend to overuse them. Cell phone texting has likely caused a lot of that malady.
