With the switch in the off or kill the saw position you should have a pathway to ground or the chassis of the saw. Start ohming it out piece by piece to find where the pathway is broken.

Since it is a NE 346 and I'm looking for one.........I'll take it offa your hands if it totally pisses you of in the end.

I aint mad at it..ive tortured that saw and it still hasnt quit on me..i think its a sign from the saw gods that its never gonna lay down...me and 2 of my friends have passed it around by the ears.

Check if the blade is touching the terminal when switch is off.Does the terminal on switch button is far enough in the slot ?

Ive checked it 10 times..this saw is so aggressive it just wont shut off apparently.

Use a volt meter and check continuity it's the omega symbol, put the ground to the coIL and the positive to the case it should ohm out anD beep. If it doesn't then something is up.

Dude im honestly not that into it , if i need a flux capacitor to work on a chainsaw i lose intrest

These are the tools i use.

BFH
screwdriver
Chisel
Framing gun
Wiha tool set

If i cant fix it with those i send it to someone who has the patience i dont.

A volt meter is a very handy tool, and a continuity test is honestly the most basic of things you can do with it. It's the next step up from a wire with a light attached. But I'm a farmer and used to having to work on my own stuff. Kinda makes you a jack of all trades, or is that a jack azz, I can't remember.:nusenuse:

I never had a desire to be a jack of all trades..i picked 3 or 4 things and got good at them instead of pissin around..im an average mechanic..i work on my vehicles and stuff i just really dont enjoy doin it..i get pissed too easy.
