Ms660 blowdown

How does the 660 react to shorter blowdown, say in the 16 to 18 degree range? I'd like to pick the RPMs up some in the cut.

From what I’ve found, a 660 doesn’t like upper transfers any bigger than they are. And raising them just makes them bigger

My 066 had 26 degrees stock and ran very well. I widened and raised the exhaust a scoge, raised the transfers to 22 degrees blowdown. It revs higher now but doesn’t have any more snort in the cut. Haven’t taken it off the shelf in a few years.
