Sorta sucks that one buys the new top dog saw and needs to make an improvement on the saw.

I agree, but most saws that are falling on the west coast have improvements done from new. Weather it being dogs, oversized chip deflectors, crank/clutch buttons and the oh so common exhaust mods.

Just something else that the local saw shops adds to the list.

When the 500i first came to Canada, the Stihl rep told me that it was never designed for anything over a 32'' bar, weather that is true or not...who knows

Them Germans only run 18”-20” bars anyway...

I've thought about a few layers of heat shrink on the springs, or rubber tubes over them, for any squishy saw: 590, 550 mkII, 500i... Maybe replace any foam bits with rubber. A heavier spring would be the ideal fix.

Don't tell me you ordered a bark box for your 462... :rocket2:
No, lol. But I am going to try those 3-point dogs. I’ve always wanted to but never have.
The kit looks like it has a 661 spring and foam piece. Not sure about the rubber, but I’m hoping it all works. It would make that saw a winner winner for me.

That was going to be a question is if the 661 mounts would swap in.

The only complaint I have with my MMWS 441CMR is the mushy anti-vibe springs.

I am curious if this kit would fit and work for my 441?

An input from our members would be Greatly appreciated!

you could buy the kit too correct?

Oh yeah. I just bought an R kit for an MS361. It came with AV springs, handlebar, wide clutch cover, and big spikes. But it would be cheaper to just get the R model springs.

My Parts Smart has to be updated, bet I but @Cobby08 could find those part numbers.

Well that would make sense as this saw started life as a 441CM.

I converted it with factory parts including the HV pump, clutch cover and wrap.

But didn't know about the springs :BangHead:

If anyone has the correct P/N I will purchase them and hopefully correct my wayward path.

Thank you for the help!

Chet
