LOLThe 462 will pick up speed and torque with break in
The husky will lose weight as bits fall off
Should be close
They're perfect with a 31 tho
+1I too would like to see how the makita fares against the "new generation" offerings.
Ported 241c and ported 461R make for a nice one-two punch also ... I run a 16” on the 241c and a 20”-32” on the 461R ... makes for quick slice and dice lol !The 462c and 261c look like a very nice two saw plan. Bars/chains interchangeable.
I disagree, a product typically gains legendary status not by being better that the previous model, but because the newest model fell on it's face.462 it’s an amazing saw.
It’s the Yardstick for others to measure for years to come.
It’s gonna be a legend.
Technocraticly speaking: STIHL gave a “best of” saw to the market just before the release of the new era -injection- saw. So if ms500i gets teething problems there is always the 462 for loyal clientele. This is very smart move.
I hope that this is a new trend throughout the Stihl lineup. They need to continue to trim the physical size down. This 462 looks fairly close in size to the 261/362. I know which I’d rather use.hard times for the 362

Any eta when they will be up there Gary?Yeah but I'm cheap too. Not willing to pay the premium to jump the line. I think I want mine as an Arctic Wrap anyway...
See it all the time out west.. just sayin’.A 70cc saw ain't designed for a 32" bar.
Agreed. Had two of them pieces of *s-word. Never again, that’s for sure... besides, the 262xp gets the job done just fine. The husqvarna might need a lot more redesign, don't forget the cluster *f-word the 562 has been lol

Think of the models that now have legend status.
