OK, good to know.
Saw isn't even out yet and we are coming up with POTENTIAL downfalls? Jeeesh. WTF
The 462 spring mounts look good, the front spring mount is the same design as the 395XP. Vertically positioned to handle long bars.Spring mounts, AV limiter maybe. That’s my guesses from the pictures.
Here I figured it out , retrieved it from my thread on the other site. The 462 spring mounts look good, the front spring mount is the same design as the 395XP. Vertically positioned to handle long bars.
There's a pic of it over at Chainsaw Repair index on my 462 thread.
If I knew how I'd transfer it over here. Anyone is welcome to give it a shot.

Interesting , thanks. A 25" is max that I'd run on the 462.
If you notice cracks in the picture thats not on the saw, it a cracked screen on my old phone.Lol
I took a picture of the picture on my old cracked phone with my new phone, then posted it on the thread![]()
Same as the 661. They get mushy quick with longer bars. The foam type limiter in the pocket up there by the spring gets soft. The Wv limiter pocket on the right side can be busted with long bars or yanking on the saw. I took a small AV dust plug and put in the 661 to help limit the movement and hopefully spread the load out on that pocket.
Punch the pin in and move on...easy mod that I was shown at the GTG.How’s the oiler with the 28” bar buried? My 046 I had with the standard oiler (461 uses same oiler) was stingy with a 28” bar in maple. If I kept it any longer it was getting a ho oiler.
I saw no pin that restricted movement on 046/461 oiler, only on a 661. Unless I’m missing something?Punch the pin in and move on...easy mod that I was shown at the GTG.
