It's a really cheap kit I was experamenting with porting. It's got a triple port muffler. I truely believe my tune was off a little and combined with the really cheap kit in the heat. I think it just got way too hot and I should have give it a break.

The kit did have a different feel but it ran pretty well. I could tell a difference over stock.

Did you pull the limiters in the carb, and where was your Hi? If the temp changed during the day, did you adjust for it? You should be able to run a properly tuned saw all day long w/o the fear of burning it up, unless it is just too lean (which may make it feel strong).

Oh yea limiters were gone a long time ago. I want to take a look at the carb too. Saw would run good until you let it idle and it would eventually die if you don't bump the throttle. It would take a little while before it would do it but would eventually die

Sounds like something is leaking, and it may leak worse when it is hot. I think you have IDed the problem, a vac/pressure test of the saw is in order before you replace the piston.

What happened to the orig cylinder?

Had a wrist pin clip come out and groves the cylinder bad. Got the saw in on trade for another saw.

Forget the BB kits Brian. A waste of time on a good day....a disaster on a bad one.
I was mainly using the kit to practice porting with cause it was cheap. I didn't figure it would last. It was a fun build. I am going to sand the transfer out of the cylinder and try some more tweeks to it to see if I can get any more out of it. It's just for personal playing. I like having fun with it and not having the worry. I am wanting to try one of those cross performance kits on my 064. You still having good results with them???

I've yet to get a chance to try one for a length of time Brian. I'm hoping we'll get some feedback from the ones Bruce gave away and sold on black Friday. The BB kits are for the most part poorly thought out. The pistons are also poorly cast from what I've seen Do you need a good 046 jug?

No I have a good oem piston and cylinder for another build I just really like experimenting with the cheap stuff. Mist of the stuff I put together oem doesn't get messed with much due to the cost. I am trying to put some of the information I have found on here into practice.
