Pictures?
Hopefully this Friday. I've been out of town for a few weeks.
Look over all the connectors real close. Check fir pins that have been pushed out or pins of a different(dark) color. Find a way to clean the pins if you find them. See if you can find someone close with the scan tool (MDG-1) and that could be a help.
I'll attempt to get the connectors cleaner and look for any discoloration. Thanks everybody for all the help.

The new coil requires a new carb. Cost is around $340 for the set up.... I guess the new updated coil cant communicate correctly with the old/original carb. Just my 2 cents from a gold stihl tech. Also seen where people claim to have no spark ...when it actually does have spark but the piston and cylinder is trashed. Might wanna pull the muffler off which is easy to do and look at the piston for any scratches. I noticed the ms441c lists multiple ignition coils. If you do a search by your serial number it will eliminate the other coils that wont work right on your saw. I believe this is the part# 1138 007 1008

Right.

No. The new carburetor has an updated inlet lever spring to improve the idling characteristic. Therefore the fuel flow is different and that is adapted in the firmware of the control unit.

I found that out on a 193t. I tried using a drill to spin it while checking for spark, and got nothing until I put the starter cover on and pulled hard. The drill goes 1800rpm or so.
Same thing happened with my 261 I don't trust using a drill on the flywheel for spark on anything now.

I have an MS441C M-Tronic withsame problem. I would be willing to part with,...maybe.. idk. Lol 😆
The solenoids are replaceable, if I remember correctly they cost around $40. If that is the only issue, it is a relatively cheap and easy fix for that saw.

This is from using the MDG1 Diagnostic tester Procedure.

If there is a failure to connect then the wiring harness needs to be checked for continuity at each wire end to end. Someone mentioned this. I have seen multiple M-Tronic units have a failure in the harness, and I don't think you mentioned having done that yet. All of the wires have soft coverings and there are little grooves in the plastic to route the wires properly. STIHL makes a special tool (of course) for push in the wires into the grooves. It is basically a blunt smooth corner screwdriver so you could make one. If the harness is out of placed or a wire got pinched this may be your problem.

Fellas, this is an old thread. Would be interested in what it took to finally fix it.

I bought the saw from Jack.
Got it running.
Got it ported.
Lost a crank.
Replaced the crank.
Still as beat up and ugly as they come but it's a good saw
