Does all the wiring to the fuel solenoid look good?

Does flywheel show any signs of damage? If it took a hit from something, the magnets could have changed polarity and you won’t get spark.

It’s pretty darn rare, but it happened to me once. The flywheel and coil contacted each other in a saw I bought. There were obvious scrape marks on the flywheel. Both magnets remained “Strong”, but it wouldn’t create a spark. It drove me nuts.

@rustypete, when you used your mulitmeter, were you metering just the coil itself? Did you try and ground one lead, put the other in the spark plug cap and the pulling it over to see if you are getting any deflection on the multimeter? I had a saw the other day I was putting back together and gapped the coil with a business card and didn't get any spark, but the multimeter showed deflection when pulling. I narrowed the gap on the coil and then finally got spark. Saved me from playing swaptronics with spark plugs when they were not the problem.
