Jim, did you get your carb sorted out? I just ported a 36 and was chasing the fuel issus also...it would just fall on its face half way through. I did the needle seat enlaregent and maybe helped it a little but still wouldn't hold.
I tapped out the main jet which only had one feed hole at 10 oclock. I used the next size larger bit and opened the original and continued through the other side so it had two holes.
Reinstalled the jet, assembled and gave it a run.......that fixed my issues.

I normally punch the nozzles out to do that but most of the time they have two holes and it isn't really necessary. Thanks for the heads up, I'm definitely going to take care of that when I change the pto side seal.
