MS260 Won't Start - What to Look For?

Not necessarily. Especially if it's just a pop. I had an 084 with 2 key slots in the crank. It would pop every time I pulled it. But all it did was pop. I moved the key to the other slot and it ran fine, which was probably 30° off

I stand corrected.
I was thinking more a known running saw that suddenly won't start.
But I suppose it could have slipped some and still pop.

Yep that's why I mentioned it. If it will run for 2 or 3 seconds, the key is probably good, but not necessarily on just a "pop". And usually when you get just a pop, if it is the key, it'll dang near take your fingers off
