The current ones in the fleet.

'45 Willys MB (CJ grille in the pic is hanging on the wall now). Chevy 153/SM420/D18, narrow track 30 front, stock 44 rear. Buncha other stuff. My dad bought this in 1979, raced it all through the 80s. Slowly reviving and updating since I inherited it

My '76 F250 460/4spd, big dumb street cruiser

'69 CJ5, legit barn find my old boss bought then never did anything with. Not sure what I'll do with it either but it was worth the $500 I paid. Last registered in the early 80's.

Wow, I don't think I've seen a set of old school Tru-Tracs on anything since the 80s.

Pretty positive it hasn't run since the 80's. It had some kind of engine trouble serious enough for it to be removed and then it was never fixed.

My rig was built for the Con as well as the Shaver Lk trails like Dusy, Swamp Lk, Red Mt. I overbuilt it to prevent breakdowns when 30 miles from nowhere :p
I have 2 separate Soup Bowl dents 😀

85 K30 LS swapped, 5.3 liter, detroit in the rear, front D60 with 35 spline axles, yukon hubs, and a Tru trac. Its my firewood getter
Nice fkn wood truck! Front truetrac is the best. Hard to steer in the woods with thousands of lbs of green wood in the bed when using a front locker and off camber stuff, open diff isn't enough. The front truetrac fixes it all. Running one in the front of my f 350 wood truck.

theres been a few times for me when a true 4 wheel drive is what ive needed, the tru trac is soo well behaved on the snowy roads you barely feel its there, definatley gets 2 thumbs up from me, I opted for an old school detroit in the rear just to be sure both tires engage in reverse, I heard from a couple snowplow guys they had problems getting both rears to engage in reverse when stuck on snow berms.

the weak link in my truck has been the np241c transfer case, it wants to crap the rear output shaft bearing out of the case, I put a case saver 3 pice snap ring in it and its helped, but I think with the LS motor torque and no tire slip its just to much for it to constitantly take.

I would like to, I didnt want to run a cable to electro speed sensor adapter thingy when I put it together, so i searched high and dry for the hardest t-case to find chevy made, passenger side drop 241 with an electric speed sensor, but inhindsight a 205 with a speed sensor adapter should of been what I used.

and honestly I would like a sm465 granny tranny as well, Ive informed my wife this summer the truck might need a couple grand to tighten it up some more and I got the OK.

I have been half assed in looking for parts, but with warmer weather on the horizon I will be looking more.

I did it the other way around. Truetrac in the rear of my F350 for towing and street manners. ARB up front for when needed. I agree though the truetrac has been flawless for me. Thinking of swapping to a select able rear locker but too many projects going right now.

I ran a TrueTrak up front before the solid axle swap. It was great in snow, mud and general loose terrain. But, in the rocks...not so good. Swapped to ARB with the solid axle.

I run an sm 465/327 v8 in my 68 k20. Yep that low first gear is great trying to crawl a load of green wood.

It's getting pulled for a built nv 4500 so I can have a highway gear. Long Range Gear ships it north this week. The GM 4500 has a 6.34 1st gear and 6.34:1 reverse, so won't be much different crawl ratio over an sm 465.

All that m1031 CUCV drivetrain/hydro boost brakes/powersteering is going in the 68k20 as well.

NP271 maybe. Lower low than 205, depends on your usage.
My other wood truck has this np 271 transfer case, behind a built 4r100 with all sun coast innards and sun coast billet torque convertor.

My first wood truck had a np 205 behind a gt360 and 6bt cummins.

Havent really noticed much difference moving wood with either transfer case in low range.

"2 something":1 transfer cases, the 1st gear of the tranmission makes the biggest difference.

Mighty tempted to pull the trigger on a 5.33:1
ORD underdrive that bolts to an np205 and mates to an nv 4500. Would be a notable difference paired with my 4:56 axle ratio and 6.34:1 1st gear ratio:
