Saw this in Local FB marketplace...never heard of one before and didn't see it on the Acres site either. Can anybody shed a little light?

Mercury disston... I think maybe a g-10 but I thought they were straight up disstons . More informed people should be along shortly.

Look under disston on acres site.

How unimpressive!
The chips are floating to the ground like snowflakes on a calm winter day. o_O

That thing needs some bananas stuffed down it's throat! :b1:

A good chain would be nice too...

That be a Mercury Disston KB-6 made for the military. There are actually
quite a few of these around. Disston had the contract with the gov. back then.
They are not real fast reving saws and with the gear reduction the chain
spins not as fast as most think. The chain drivers are in that bar at least a
1/2 inch so it is hard to derail a chain when it's adjusted correctly.
Pretty cool saws.

Lee, I thought the kbs had the filter on the top. I actually typed that it was a kb7 but edited it out because I was pretty sure I was wrong.

I'm just looking for info... I'm not doubting you're right. ;)
