McCulloch 640 & 660 Geardrives

Jon has been rehabbing a couple of old Macs. A 660, and a 640 geardrive.

They both are in great condition for their age, but both need the fuel tank and carb cleaned up.

Here's a few pictures.....

Great old saws! The Macs are my absolute favorites. Do you have any others besides these two?

Oh yeah Alan. I have a Super 250, Super 797, PM850, and several smaller ones. Oh........we have a two man Mac too.

Tearing into the tank.....

Rather than stick with the larger size fuel line on the inside of the fuel tank, I turned down the bulkhead fitting so we could use the same size line in the tank, and in the carb box.

Then to attach the line from the bulkhead to the carby.

The 640 didn't even need a kit in the carb. It was in good shape. Jon just had to make a new gasket for the intake.

We are finally caught up reasonably so we can mess with some of our own stuff.

Watch for a thread on a freshly powder coated 562xp.

After this last bit of cold I'm really thinking of a 562 with heated handles...but back to the macs!

I have my cp55 on the bench next for some carb work. Metering needle leaks.
