Hey, who had that giant gear-drive McCulloch over on AS? I think it had an SP125 motor mated to a Mac gear reduction?
Mc Bob throwed at least one together using a 125 power unit and a gear reduction unit from something .If I'm not mistaken some have used 797's and reduction units too .

I've only got one which is pictured on Mike Acres site being a 650 .It an 87 cc with a 2 to 1 reduction unit and an 8 tooth 1/2" spur adapted from a Homelite .For a gear drive it's surprisingly fast .

Huh. Well, I can just fiddle with it after memorizing Mark's thread regarding the primer. I could probably figure something out using a modern primer bulb and some fittings. At this point I don't really care, a squirt can will work just as good.

Here is the last big cube geardrive i built. Sporting the Super 797 motor.

Never saw this thread! Very cool....you still "monkeying" around with those old saws? I notice the Bar & Chain alignment is real close to the center of that saw.....wonder if thats for limbing..:) (Per that dude over at arboristsite who's all about out board clutch for "ballance" )

No Walt, I gave the 797 to @Definitive Dave
Re-visiting the past a bit. Bob & I get needled on a vid we did a few years ago. SO a round two is in the making. Digging out the Mac Stuff that's collected in the corners of the shop..:) Have some Pro Mac 81 parts. Really want to build them into a saw too.
