I turned off the air conditioning before the end of September and have been comfortable since. In the past few days the temperature has gone to freezing overnight and only up to around 50 during the day. My inside temperature has dropped to 65 and will probably be 63 by morning. I may have to break down and turn on the heat.

Started burning wood here last night. 40s during the day and 20s at night.

Heats been on for three weeks, getting almost time to get the wood heater fired up.

Got down to 27 last night, but still 64 inside. Looks like I will make it to Thanksgiving without turning on the heat!

You must have a well built house with lots of southern facing windows or some serious appliance heat gain in your house.

Nope, just 2 windows and a stove I use 2-3 times a week.

I started my first fire earlier this week. Temps got into the low 30's at night.
Today, it's in the mid 40's. The fire feels good.
