Nice super C! We have had two C's with a 5ft woods finish mower on them. We also had an H. Great tractors.

Now we just have our ford 8not with a bucket and splitter for it. Which I'm still struggling to get it started.

Any interest in a parts tractor? I've got a 49 8N that I'm trying to get rid of... Could trade for the right saw, plus or minus a few bucks.

Also, awesome thread here Randy. It's got Dolmars, tractors, metal shavings, a sweat lodge, what's not to love?

Not really. I lowered the intake about 7°, and raised the roof about .080"

Well if looks pretty rounded on the bottom of the intake. I usually square em up.

With the rounded you are gettin the duration without as much time, which would also have more case compression than a big square one

Ah.....

I see what you are getting at Deets.

I'm building this saw to hand off to another person, so skirt wear is a consideration. As a matter of fact, I've been thinking more about durability these days as a rule.

I build a lot of saws for tree services and loggers, and those guys want performance, and longivity.

Josh @Four Paws said something in one of my build threads a few months ago about more rounded port shapes. So, I've been trying longer durations, with more arch on the ports. It works pretty damn well.

Also, I dug back thru my notes and build threads and noted the saws that were most impressive. I've been spending the last few months reworking a lot of my "recipes".

Better or worse? The jury is still out. I am liking the way some of my stuff is running though. Still room for improvement......as always.
