Most of Madsen's work involes modifying the piston, and they turn out of a lot turds...

Once in a great while it works out but I'm not a fan of their worksaws having bought several brand new.
Yep. They are easily fixed with actual port work and a new piston.

you have obviously found something Randy,
have you figure how you will know if the info on tight bases is relevant to a saw or not.
meaning what is a tight base saw and how do you know if its the right approach or not?

Looks good Carl. I did 118 mains and 121 secondaries.

When these are not flat, would an average of the two be a good indicator of bd? Say your shooting for 25. Ex is 100, would you do 124 mains 126 seconds?

I do. I call 24-26 degrees 25° or or if it's flat well its flat. Lol. Hope that makes sense.

Saw sounds great Carl.
Thank you. It feels good. But something is holding it back. I felt this on the first ones I built. I'll try my best to explain.
Generally on a saw the lighter the hand the more rpm they turn up to a heavy hand to slow them down. These saws to me feel like you can pull them down but from a just a med hand to light hand there the same. Which I guess is good for consistency but it's like there's a wall there. Lol.
