Are you trying to keep the pressure under what the pop off is for this test or just slightly over?

Really need small pressure under the metering diaphragm. If the needle and seat is sealing it would put pressure on the pump side. If it leaking by the pressure goes under the metering diaphram.

If the carb won't lean out closing off the needle adjustments, it's bypassing some where.

Rather than use a customer's saw, Randy has commented that he was going to get his own 6100 to work out some more creative mods. I'm looking forward to that build thread.

Randy, a full port job may be a bit more cash than most people have laying around, do you do just an upgrade on the carb?

I'm behind bad right now. I've got two different dealers that I do new saws for, and they bombed me with saws. Also, I've been injured for months now.....and some days I just can't concentrate on the grinding. I'm getting a lot better finally, but unfortunately I'm already behind. I've been telling folks that if they need their saw just let me know, and I'll move it on up. I schedule less work now than I ever have, but still haven't been good at keeping up.

Since this thread morphed into a carb thread I got an issue. Zama C1Q E3 on a brushcutter. Won't tune. New kit ,USCed both myself and the dealer can't get it right. Constantly runs rich even with the screws turned in. $91.00 bucks through Efco and 38.00 on eBay. Any wisdom.
I have had rich problems on some 394/395's before and both times the needle seat was all screwed up from what my carb guy said. He reamed the seats to get a better fuel flow and they were all better. Also is your metering lever set to high, I think that can cause rich/flooding conditions too maybe??? Probably not the right problems/solutions but 2cents from left field never hurts... right?

As for 6100's... Yea they are pretty snotty! Check this 6100 ebay find out...

Yes that is a chainsaw TRENCHER attachment! Might have to read up on how to sharpen trencher chain now...

It was run without an AIR FILTER! I put in an ebay claim and got enough $$ back to buy the air filter and nut and a new top end. The old one was still blowing 150psi but the inside of the saw had a dark grime all over it. Everything is still tight so new top end and a good cleaning and she'll be good as new!
