They are finger rubbers. They had them at the boat factory to protect against blisters for chopper gun operators.

We had piles of those finger condoms (AKA finger cots) for using in the electronics fab factories in San Diego where/when I worked at General Dynamics. They made for a lot of jokes. They were special EDS ones that dissipate electrostatic discharge (static electricity). We also had to wear grounding bracelets there.

They are also used for medical exams where a whole glove is not required. And they are also obviously used by Mr. Richard Fitswell when he ventures over to AS.
