the Makita wouldn't idle so I started vac/pressure testing. Found the impulse line had melted off by the cylinder. I had used a blue tygon fuel line.

Reading on OPE found Stihl 200t impulse line 0000 937 5004 being used.
Is this the best impulse line to use?

The Stihl line is good Tygon not good. Is it the same ID line? If so use it as long as it fits tight.

Tygon sucks years ago when it was the craze i bought some and had failures within month's.
Stihl and echo bulk is all i use now 3x5mm and 3x6mm for over 5 year's no problem.

And it should not be touching the cylinder directly I would say.

It melted off at the nipple.

Went to the Echo dealer and purchased 3 feet of each at 1.50/foot. I'm back up and running.

There is good and bad line out on the market , avoid Chinese made at all costs . Chinese rubber line and even tygon (if it really is tygon) is crap , I've seen it fail in short order .
I've got Tygon made by St. Gobain(sp?) who also makes lines of all different types from medical to who knows . It is excellent line .

That line you have there Gravedigger is plastic , not tygon . Plastic does not like heat .

The line didn't last long. Ordered the Stihl impulse line.

Could there be a reason it's getting so hot at the impulse ? , doesn't seem normal but I'm not familiar with that saw either .

Saw been ported or modded in any way ?

Nipple is on the jug. I'm pretty sure I used the wrong type of tubing. The Stihl tubing feels more heat resistant.

The saw mods are only bb kit and hd12 carb. Will be doing mm once I get it running regularly.

Don't know what to tell you but getting that hot at the impulse still seems odd .
Try the Stihl hose , if it cooks you know somethings up with it . A MM would likely make it run cooler .

Happened to me too, as I stated a few posts back. Tygon melts off the cylinder nipple. I replaced it with echo line and it's been fine for 2 years.
