I think ethanol fuel may also raise hell with some gasket materials (rubber??) that do ok when exposed to straight gasoline, it may cause problems with rubber/silicone(?) diaphragm materials used in some fuel pumps. I know I had a 4 stroke Yamaha outboard where the fuel pump diaphragm went bad and I suspected ethanol fuel may have weakened the material. Lots of guys I know will not use ethanol fuel in the older Yamaha 4 strokes.
Yep..
